Tangalle - Goyambokka Beach
This stunning tranquil color beach is located near the southern province of Sri Lanka at a distance of approximately 200 KM from Colombo (a 3-hour drive by vehicle). If you are planning to travel by train, it's recommended to get off from Galle railway station and take a taxi (tuk-tuk) to this beach area.
For more active tourists on holiday, the Goyambokka beach will be an ideal spot for diving and swimming. Others who wish to relax and enjoy the sea breeze can opt for sun beds and leisurely spend time near the beach as the ambiance at this beach is simply amazing.

Trincomalee - Nilaveli Beach
This stunning beach is located on the east coast of Sri Lanka, with an approximate distance of 15 KM from Trincomalee. If you are seeking a perfect getaway from your busy lifestyle, a visit to Nilaveli Beach will give you a breath of fresh air. The white sandy beaches and spectacular views of the Indian Ocean make this beach an exceptional location.
The best way to visit this beach would be either by personal vehicle or by train. The journey may take around 6 - 8 hours from Colombo, therefore, many locals and tourists opt to travel by train. If you are planning to travel by train, you will need to take the train from Colombo Fort railway station to Trincomalee. Once you get off from Trincomalee railway station, Nilaveli Beach is within a drive of 30 minutes.
One of the activities that you must do at this beach, is to visit the Pigeon Island national park. The island can be reached within 10 – 15 minutes by boat. Once you reach the island, you can enjoy a swim with the turtles, snorkel with the colorful fish or simply enjoy a dip in the beautiful ocean.
In addition, you can also arrange a Whale / Dolphin watching tour or if you are a more adventurous person you can go scuba diving in the deep blue ocean.
Tip: If you are planning to travel by train, ensure to pre-book the train a few weeks or a month ahead.
